We are delighted to announce that the next Higher Education Advisers’ and Teachers’ Conference will be held on Thursday 3 November 2016 at the Great North Museum, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Our annual Higher Education Advisers’ and Teachers’ (HEAT) conference gives staff from schools, colleges and universities a forum to discuss policy changes, curriculum development and progression to Higher Education. This interactive conference provides the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers and attend practical workshops that will equip teachers and advisers to better support young people.
Following on from a very successful conference in 2015, the theme of this years event will be ‘Supporting Progression to Higher Education’, providing an opportunity to find out about new and exciting ways to inspire young people to continue through education – all of which can be taken back into the classroom environment.
The Partnership will welcome Ben Jordan, Senior Policy Executive at UCAS as the keynote speaker at this years event!
Ben Joined UCAS in June 2010. During his time at UCAS he has worked as part of the Research Team and as part of the Qualification Information Review Project Team, before moving to the Policy Team. Prior to joining UCAS, Ben studied Law at Cardiff University.
Ben’s interests and specialisms include qualification and qualification reform, student number controls in England, the varying funding arrangements in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, outward mobility, equalities, widening participation and the UCAS Tariff.
